That in turn would have a dominoe effect on food and energy (fossil fuel) consumption. Either anarchy, another world war or a major flu pandemic. Isn’t overpopulation the real problem? Why don’t governments enact one child per family laws like they have on the books in China?
Yes none, I am a fat, bald, lazy, beer swilling, middle aged American. I have lived a good life. If I survive, I survive. If I don’t then I don’t. I still think that overpopulation is a key problem and believe that a pandemic or coventional global conflict are the two best answers. Of course the latter is moot thanks to nukes.

Here in the united states most families are not having enough babies to keep up the population (only the mexican immigrants are having enough babies, go figure)
and speaking of China… child abandonment and abortions are very high in china because they have that rule. Baby girls are killed.

It’d be a pretty sorry world if that happened. We’d have a completely Darwinian world, and while you might think that’s fine, we’re above the animals in the intellect arena. Let’s not sink to their level, shall we?

That’s what happened after Hurricane Katrina after the levees broke. There was mass rape, looting, murders, etc. Didn’t seem to solve any problems.

Every man for himself would cause overpopulation. Overpopulation doesn’t simply mean lots of people, it means too few resources for the people there are.
If it were every man for himself, each man would produce less, since there’s no incentive for other men to help and no certainty of him keeping what he makes.
There would be less production, therefore fewer resources available and overpopulation would be the result.

How would you try to enforce the one child policy in Catholic Latin American countries or in the Muslim world?
We can of course discuss anything. But your suggestions are about as likely to ever become reality as me being beamed to the Moon and back.

Yes, but odds are good that you would not survive long. Maybe that’s what we need to get rid of the weak. Are you weak?
